Cancer Support Services
It's hard to be a cancer patient
Whether you or someone you care about is a cancer patient, the journey from diagnosis through treatment and recovery is filled with many questions. At the Eisenhower Lucy Curci Cancer Center, we offer guidance, support and understanding to help you cope every step of the way. Our cancer support groups and other support services are designed to meet the specific needs and concerns of cancer patients and their family and friends. We incorporate the latest information on cancer treatment and research into an array of programs to help strengthen the body, physically and emotionally. Our goal is to nurture hope and healing for our patients and their families.
We're here for you
The Eisenhower Lucy Curci Cancer Center is a resource for the entire community. You don't have to be a patient to take advantage of all that we offer. If you or someone close to you has cancer, we're here for you. We offer numerous support groups, nutrition counseling, genetic counseling, exercise classes, "Lunch & Learn With the Expert" sessions, lecture series, free Wig Shop and smoking cessation classes.
Sometimes, just talking with someone can be healing. Short-term individual and family counseling with trained oncology social workers is available to help you develop the emotional and social resources to deal with cancer.
Proper nutrition is vital to ensure your body has the nutrients it needs during treatment. Through nutritional counseling with a certified nutritionist trained in the special needs of cancer patients, you'll learn how to eat right to promote healing and good health.
A support group offers education, information and support. Participants can share personal experiences or just listen with other cancer patients and survivors. There is no fee to participate and new members are always welcome. We offer the following Support Groups: Breast Cancer, Metastatic Breast Cancer, Bladder Cancer, Multiple Myeloma, Prostate Cancer, and a general support group for cancer patients and their caregivers.
Cancer Lecture Series
Learning about cancer is an important part of treatment. That is why we offer ongoing lectures and educational presentations about treatment options and the latest in cancer prevention and detection. The Cancer Lecture Series is presented by a team of specialized physicians and health care professionals at the Eisenhower Lucy Curci Cancer Center.
The Eisenhower Lucy Curci Cancer Center also hosts teleconferences, community meetings, cancer screenings and other workshops. In addition, the Center is actively involved in the community and works in cooperation with local, regional and national cancer organizations such as the American Cancer Society, the National Cancer Institute and the Department of Health and Human Services.
