This year’s special guest speaker is John Clancy, PhD. Dr. Clancy is Professor and Chair of Cell Biology, Neurobiology, Anatomy and Division of Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry at the Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Illinois.
Dr. Clancy will share the latest news and information on stem cell research:What are the different types of stem cells, and what are their scientific applications? What does the latest research show about the medical promise of stem cells? What is the real science, and what are the false claims? What is the future of stem cell research? Dr. Clancy will present an overview on stem cell research, and then take questions from the audience.
“The lecture series is a wonderful opportunity for guests to have one-on-one access to a world-renowned expert like Dr. Clancy,” said Philip Dombrowski, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Annenberg Center. “At the lecture, the audience will hear the latest information on health and medical issues, and then have the opportunity to speak with our guest more informally after the presentation. At each event, people are still interacting with the speaker, asking questions long after he or she has finished their talk.”
The Leonore Annenberg Lecture series began in 2007 as part of the Annenberg Center’s 25th anniversary. For more information, please call 760-773-4500 or visit annenberg.net.
