News from Eisenhower Medical Center
Ryszard Skulski, MD Andrew Frutkin, MD and Khoi Le, MD
Miracles happen in our Cath Lab! It wasn’t a typical Friday! We had a difficult procedure underway and "code blue" was called - Dr Skulski was diligently working with his patient. Dr Le and Dr Frutkin responded to the overhead page not knowing what the situation was. Dr Le scrubbed in to offer any assistance and Dr Frutkin ran the code situation so that the others could complete the procedure. Our patient did well, witnessed arrest with 50 minutes of CPR. We were so impressed at the team work displayed by our Physicians to care for our patient and each other. Several hours later, Dr Frutkin was working with a patient and another "code blue" was called. Dr Skulski responded and was able to offer assistance to his peer. Our patient did well; she too had CPR for 52 minutes. Miracles happen at EMC and in our Cath Lab. Both patients had severe Coronary Artery Disease and had Cardiac Arrest on our table, their lesions were opened and our patients survived and are thriving.
We were sent a Thank You card from one of these patients and it states: I’m sending a huge thank you to all of the doctors and staff of the Cardiac Cath Lab who worked so long and hard to save my life. You did it! I’m as good as new! Everything works as well as before my "event". You are all my heroes! Thank you! Thank you! Thank You!
