WALT DISNEY CONCERT HALL Messiah Sing-Along Back by popular demand! This is one of L.A.’s most eagerly awaited traditions. You are the chorus, so get ready to sing. On Monday, December 10, 7:30 p.m. or Sunday, December 16, 7:30 p.m., warm up with the Disney Hall pipe organ, and then join in with the orchestra! Holiday Sing-Along This year you have two chances to enjoy what has become an annual holiday tradition.On Saturday, December 22 at 1 or 4 p.m., take part in the Holiday Sing- Along—the perfect way to celebrate with family and friends and sing the season’s most beloved songs. Lyric sheets are provided for all. Ticket prices start at $23. DOWNTOWN ON ICE Lace up your skates! Los Angeles has its own version of Rockefeller Center right in the heart of downtown in Pershing Square. Attracting 300,000 visitors annually, Southern California’s largest outdoor skating rink opens daily in mid-November through mid-January. Admission is $6 per hour, and skate rental is $2. THE DWP FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS Enjoy the 12th annual festival sponsored by L.A.’s Department of Water and Power. Held in Griffith Park, this holiday light festival is a magnificent display of lights along a one-mile segment of Crystal Springs Drive. This holiday tradition attracts a half million visitors each year. Best of all, it’s free! Visitors will experience less congestion and wait times on weekdays. Take in the light display between November 23 and New Year’s Eve, from 5 to 10 p.m. daily. HOLIDAYS – BEVERLY HILLS STYLE Rodeo Drive only becomes more enchanting at the holidays, with the City of Beverly Hills lighting a collection of Baccarat crystal chandeliers along the famed street on Saturday, November 17 to kick off the holiday season. Entertainers, including jazz singers, stringed trios, and performance artists, will keep spirits merry on weekends beginning November 24 throughout the “Golden Triangle”— the hub of Beverly Hills bordered by Santa Monica Boulevard,Wilshire Boulevard and Rexford Drive. How to get there Walt Disney Concert Hall and Pershing Square: Take I-10 West to 101 North. Exit at Grand Avenue, just before the I-110 interchange. Turn right onto Grand. For the Concert Hall, turn right on 2nd Street for parking. For Pershing Square, turn left on West 6th Street and left on South Olive Street. Driving Time: Approximately 2 hours.
Griffith Park: Take I-10 West. Merge onto I-5 North toward Sacramento. Exit 141-B toward Griffith Park. Turn right onto Crystal Springs Drive. Driving Time: Approximately 2 hours.
Beverly Hills: Take I-10 West toward Santa Monica. Exit Robertson Boulevard (exit 6). Turn right onto South Robertson Boulevard. Turn left onto Wilshire Boulevard. Driving Time: Approximately 2 hours, 15 minutes.
