If you have chosen or plan to choose Blue Shield’s PPO as part of the health care exchange with Covered California or one of Blue Shield’s new 2014 PPO plans outside of Covered California, you may not know that Eisenhower is considered “out of network” with these plans. As such, you can still have services at Eisenhower, but your “out of network” benefits will apply for Eisenhower outpatient clinics, urgent care locations and hospital services. If you want a plan that applies your “in network” benefits to services at Eisenhower, you still have the option of changing your coverage. Speak with a certified Covered California agent about switching to either a Health Net PPO plan or Anthem Blue Cross PPO plan with Covered California or outside of Covered California. Please note, this applies to new individual and family plans effective January 1, 2014.
Eisenhower is in network with Blue Shield’s grandfathered individual and family plans and all group plans. People who have Medicare with a Blue Shield supplemental plan are also in network with Blue Shield and Eisenhower.

These plans will give you “in network” benefits for Eisenhower services at our outpatient clinics, urgent care locations and for hospital services. If you would prefer to be in network with Eisenhower, you can still change your coverage, but time is running out. Open enrollment ends in March.
