  • Fargo N. Khoury, MD, received his medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine and completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Medical College of Wisconsin and Loma
    Linda University Medical Center.

Dr. Khoury was drawn to medicine by two influences: his family and academic interests. Growing up in a family of medical professionals and physicians, medicine was a field that was familiar and interesting. Coupled with his interest and excellence in the subjects of biology and chemistry while in high school and college, a career in medicine was an easy choice. “Going into medicine was really a calling for me,” states Dr. Khoury. “Using my skills and interest in science along with the support of my family, medicine seemed like the natural
    choice for a career path.”

Dr. Khoury’s path toward the specialty of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation began after his then 98-year-old grandmother fell and broke her hip. Watching his grandmother recover and rehabilitate to a level of independence was what ultimately convinced Dr. Khoury that rehabilitation medicine was the best fit for him. “I saw the role my grandmother’s rehab team had in her successful recovery, and I was convinced that this was the field of medicine I would pursue.” The relational, multidisciplinary requirements of rehabilitation and the longer term interaction with the patient were reasons why I selected this area of specialty.”

“I am interested in treating the whole person – from the physical, mental, social and spiritual perspectives. All of these play a part in a patient’s successful rehabilitation, and I am honored to be a partner in this process.”
